Ikan Kicap

I've been cooking all her favorite dish lately. I miss her..this dish is a very simple dish..doesn't take much of your time.

Plus for busy working parents this would be perfect dish for weeknight meals. Simple yet appetizing. ❤❤

Ikan Kicap Recipe

5 pieces of mackerel
1 tbsp of soy sauce
1 tbsp of oyster sauce
3 tbsp sweet dark soy
2 Slices onions
2 inch of chopped ginger
1 chopped red chili
A handful of Chinese parsley

METHOD:

1. Marinate the fish with a bit of turmeric & salt. Heat the wok with oil and gently add in the fish. Make sure its fried both sides. Put aside.

2. Heat the oil in a different pan. Add in onion and ginger. Cook until it brings out the smells, add in the dark soy, oyster sauce and soy sauce together. Turn the fire to medium heat and slowly add a glass of water and stir it.

3. Lastly, add in the fried fish and chili's. Let the soy cook together with the fish. I usually skip the salt here because of the oyster sauce. Turn off the fire and garnish it with the parsley. Serve warm with rice.
